Fund profile

A pioneer in Central and Eastern Europe with a portfolio of landmark investments, the ACEE program focuses on buyouts and growth opportunities, mainly in Advent's core sectors. Its most recent fund, ACEE IV, closed in April 2008 at €1 billion and is one of the largest dedicated funds raised to date for the region.

Primary geographic focus

Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Turkey, Ukraine and selected other countries.


Typical equity investment
€35 million – €100 million, but can invest larger sums on a selective basis through co-investment alongside Advent's GPE program.

    Funding targeted as driving either organic or acquisition-led growth
  • Buyouts
    Funding targeted at acquiring a business from its owner, whether buying a subsidiary of a larger company/group, delisting a company from a stock exchange, buying from a majority shareholder such as a founder/owner or backing a management team seeking to assume ownership of a business.
