Stokomani is a leading French discount retailer, offering a range of brand-name goods at attractive prices in the clothing, sportswear, beauty and healthcare, home goods and toy sectors.The family-run company’s consistent performance, original concept, balanced product mix and strong workforce were attractive features. We planned to build on these strengths to accelerate the company’s growth.
Our strategy was centered on reinforcing the mid-level management team, expanding the stock clearance and no-name products supply chain, and doubling the store network within five years.
Following our investment in 2007, Stokomani has more than doubled in size through organic growth. The company improved efficiency by implementing a state-of-the-art logistics platform, increased the number of brands sold and opened a sourcing office in Shanghai which allowed it to develop private labels and import no-name products directly with an improved margin. In 2011, the business reached a turnover of nearly €200 million. With the company well-positioned for its next phase of development, we sold Stokomani to Sagard and Jean-Jacques Namani.
