John Northrop joined Advent in 2025 and serves as the Head of Risk, based in Boston.
Prior to joining Advent, John served as Head of Internal Audit at Cambridge Associates. Before joining Cambridge Associates, he held senior internal audit and risk management positions at Morgan Stanley, where he was a Managing Director and Global Head of Investment Operational Risk, and at Eaton Vance, where he was Vice President and the Director of Internal Audit. John began his career at Bank of America.
John received his BS from Bentley University. He holds a certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) and is a Certified Investment Derivatives Auditor (CIDA).
